“I have always been fascinated with motion. The beauty of any form of dance – it’s grace, sensitivity and clearness of movement – fascinates and elevates me above everyday life. The expression of emotion gives the viewer a glimpse into the soul of the dancer. Dance is a language of art, which needs no translation”. (Marysia Burr)
Screen-printing is the most painterly of the printing techniques. It allows the use of layer upon layer of color, exploiting line and mass in bold ways.
The inks can be printed as rich impastos or thin transparent glazes. The result is a print that is both vivid in hue and displays a rich tactile surface.
